Carlsbad, CA, April 19, 2006: Horry County, South Carolina, home of the famed Myrtle Beach, has selected Tadpole Technology's GO! Sync for ArcPad to streamline its GPS-enabled data collection and inspection operations for its ESRI ArcPad software users.
Horry County is one of the fastest growing counties on the east coast. By implementing GO! Sync for ArcPad, Horry County has simplified the process of keeping spatial data current when in the field. Each day, Horry County GIS technicians make hundreds of edits to the land base data stored in the central ESRI ArcSDE geodatabase. With frequent updates being made to its enterprise data, Horry County needed a method for delivering these data updates to its remote devices to ensure that its field inspectors always use the most up to date geospatial data.
GO! Sync for ArcPad was selected by Horry County to seamlessly synchronize relevant data stored in the ArcSDE server with data held remotely on ArcPad devices. When in range of the GO! Sync for ArcPad station, inspectors will simply connect using Bluetooth to automatically receive the latest updates from the enterprise geodatabase.
"GO! Sync for ArcPad has saved us time and money by automating the process of data synchronization," states Tim Oliver, Horry County GIS Manager. "Our field inspectors need current mapping data and with this unique solution they can have it quickly, easily and without returning to the office."
