IID targets underground locating for improvement. Before using MIMS, IID received USA South tickets through a generic email address. Each day the tickets were printed and then manually divided into geographic regions so a local inspector could make individual assignments. The process was time consuming and wasteful.

IID benefits from automation and mapping. Using MIMS, IID provides field workers with mapping software to electronically receive, sort, assign and perform underground locating. Tickets are automatically dispatched to inspectors so they can start from home eliminating unnecessary travel to the office. The lead inspector handles overflow and ticket reassignment as needed. Overall, the software saves time and money helping IID improve underground locating.
