If your MIMS Database is in SQL Server on a networked database server, you may receive the following error when using the Manage MIMS Database tool on the MIMS Gateway:
‘The SQLNCIxx’ provider is not registered on the local machine’ – where ‘xx’ is the version of the Native Client that is being sought.
This occurs when the MIMS database is remote and the SQL Server Native Client is not installed on the MIMS Gateway. This is a dynamic link library containing the SQL OLE DB provider and SQL ODBC driver that allows the Manage MIMS Database tool to communicate with SQL Server.
The solution is to install the called for version of the SQL Server Native Client. For more information and links to download, visit the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client Website.
