CenterPoint Energy Signs ELA with TC Technology

Carlsbad, CA, – May 28, 2013 – TC Technology announces CenterPoint Energy signs an enterprise license agreement (ELA).

CenterPoint Energy, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a domestic energy delivery company that includes electric transmission and distribution, natural gas distribution, competitive natural gas sales and services, interstate pipelines and field services operations.

In 2012, CenterPoint Energy first leveraged an ELA with TC Technology to implement a GIS field-based phasing data collection and validation application in support of their electric smart grid strategy. Field inspectors collect phase configuration data, including phase orientation and conductor roll points; verify transformers and fuse phasing information; and capture transformer-to-meter connectivity details. In 2013, CenterPoint Energy is planning a multi-state implementation of GO! Sync Mobile that integrates with their current mobile data solution for gas distribution field resources. GO! Sync capability references dispatched work orders in conjunction with rich GIS asset information. In addition, the GO! Sync solution provides GPS-enabled turn-by-turn directions as well as sketching.

With GO! Sync Mobile GIS, organizations like CenterPoint Energy recognize the advantages of extending GIS into the field. Workers benefit from near real time data and the latest maps, while operations boosts productivity from improvements in the completing planned and unplanned work, including routine maintenance.
